Hi, I’m Hermione (they/them) and I am running for the role of students with physical disabilities officer! I have been on the committee of Disabled Students’ Community (DiSCo) since 2022 as the events and socials officer and want to do more to help fellow disabled students at UEA! If elected, I plan to:

• Address inaccessible seating on campus, both in and out of classrooms. Having accessible seating is a basic level of access that is not being met for many disabled students. Current seating often separates disabled students from peers, which isn’t right!
• Begin development of a map to show how to best access different parts of campus, including alternate building entrances for when automatic doors and lifts aren’t working, where different accessible toilets are, and possible resting spaces for those who may need it.
• Encourage societies to make events more accessible! By providing a general, non-specific checklist, societies can go through it to make sure that at least basic access needs, such as level access, are met!
