Diversity

Finding your community

You're not in this alone.

Coming to university can throw everything up in the air, especially if you're not local to the area. More often than not, you'll be far from home and far away from your support network at home - it's a story we hear all the time, and it's part of the reason we're here. From helping you to find housemates during Ready To Rent, to our Buddy(su) programme and our extensive offering of on-campus events, it's our mission to make sure that you don't feel isolated while you're studying at UEA.

University is also a crucial time to network for your future - coursemates, student groups, future colleagues, placements - you're getting your name out there! Norwich is also a great place to look for peer support groups off-campus, helping to make your time away from home that much easier.

In this section you'll find a diverse range of peer support groups, both on-campus and off-campus, to make sure that you thrive!

Buddy(su)

Buddy(su) Programme

Settling into university can be an overwhelming experience. Whether you’re from a different country or county, buddy(su) is designed to offer you support during your transition to UEA by matching you with a buddy(su) volunteer, a current UEA student who has been at UEA for at least one academic year. Matches are made by school of study or hobbies and interests.
