Governance

Discover how UEA Students' Union is governed through democratic structures and policies.

As a charity of over 17,000 student members we believe it is important that our members know exactly how the Union runs, and how they can get involved.

Constitution

The way the Students' Union is established and operates in law, is set out in its Constitution, it was approved by the Unions' Trustee Board, the Student body (through an All Student Meeting), the University, and the Charity Commission.

If you need support interpreting or understanding the text please email su.voice@uea.ac.uk.

Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct sets out the expected behaviour of all members and affiliated groups when participating in any activity under the name of uea(su) both in-person or online. Note this is currently under review and changes are being made. This will be updated soon.

Bye-laws

The Bye-Laws are the ‘instruction manual’ for how the Students’ Union should work, they are also the rules that govern how the Union does business. The Bye-Laws cover processes such as how our elections are run, rules of conduct at meetings, and our equality and diversity commitments.
