Student Space Booking Requests

Union House bookable room capacities

Our Bookable Rooms in Union House can be booked from 9am-10pm subject to availability and unless stated otherwise. Please complete the ‘Room Booking Request Form’ at the bottom of this page to do so.

The Exhibition Space is uniquely situated within Union House to showcase innovation and intrigue our student population. With its open, minimalist and most importantly customisable design, this versatile space is perfect for exhibitions, activations and smaller-scale pop-up events – ideal for an intimate yet impactful experience. There is removable furniture at your disposal, light switch systems and a customisable floor plan.

Bookable Room 1

With the ability to expand into Greenroom 2 (as per request - subject to availability), this space is ideal for meetings and small receptions. Equipped with furniture, multiple whiteboards and AV systems, including a built-in PC and digital screens. Greenroom 2 includes the addition of extra space, couches and kitchen facilities.

Bookable Room 2

Small seminar room ideal for breakout sessions and meetings. Equipped with furniture, multiple whiteboards and AV systems, including a built-in PC and digital screens.

Capacity: up to 15

Bookable Room 4

Activity space equipped with floor-length mirrors and a barre. Ideal rehearsal space for a range of workshops, dance and activity classes.

Capacity: up to 15

Bookable Room 5

Small seminar room ideal for breakout sessions and meetings. Equipped with furniture, multiple whiteboards and AV systems, including a built-in PC and digital screens.

Capacity: up to 20

Bookable Room 6

Spacious seminar room perfect for team meetings, intimate lectures and casual hangouts. It comes fully equipped with furniture, multiple whiteboards and AV systems – including a built-in PC and digital screens. Need more room? When booking this space there is an option to expand into Dorothy’s (subject to availability) our on-campus bar. Enjoy exclusive access to bar amenities and create a more laid-back, social atmosphere for your event.

University room bookings

Student societies and individual students are able to book some rooms around campus. There are important rules and regulations regarding student use of these rooms, including alcohol and health and safety regulations.

Before submitting a request to book a room, please ensure the room booking regulations below have been read and understood:

For simple events such as meetings we require 2 weeks' notice inclusive of SU and UEA booking processes. For events with external speakers or larger events we require a minimum of 4 weeks' notice.

Hive Stalls

Uea(su) clubs and societies can book stalls in the Hive, Union House. Please complete the ‘Room Booking Request Form’ at the bottom of this page to do so.

Dorothy’s Bar

Dorothy’s

Located on the top floor of Union House, Dorothy’s bar is available for private hire by clubs/socs and all students. Appropriate for events of around 80 people, we can provide private bar service throughout the event. We ask for a £100 deposit on booking which will be returned should you reach a bar spend of £200.

Our bars are not available for private hire during term time as we need to keep our spaces open to all students to enjoy. To arrange events out of term or for table bookings, please contact barsu@uea.ac.uk.

The LCR

If you wish to look into booking the LCR for your student event, please email union.societies@uea.ac.uk and a member of our Activities Team will be in touch.

Outside spaces

For outdoor events, or events that include an outdoor element, you'll need to use the Events Notification System. You should receive confirmation about your event or a follow up requesting more information within two weeks. For guidance, please view their 'Hosting an Event at UEA' webpage.

BBQs on campus

For BBQs for fewer than 26 people, you can use Booker.

For BBQs for more than 25 people you will need to fill out the Events Notification System form
