Elise Page (they/them)

Postgraduate Officer

Hi, I'm Elise. I'm your Postgraduate Officer for this year!

I ran for this role because I love postgraduate life at UEA. I did my MA here, and I’m currently taking a year out of my PhD to work at the SU. It really was an honour to be elected by my fellow postgraduates and I hope we can all work together to make everyone proud.

I am passionate about fostering a compassionate, liberatory culture on campus. Before this role, I was doing some work on decolonising the university. This can mean diversifying course content, or making learning and teaching methods more accessible to everyone. But it needs to be steered by students from a diverse range of backgrounds – I’m here to support you and make sure your voices are heard.

Your Postgraduate Officer represents you.

The Postgraduate Officer is a full-time representative of students, focusing on education and academic issues that affect students on PGR (Postgraduate Research) and PGT (Postgraduate Taught) courses.

My Manifesto

My top three goals for the next year are:

  • Safeguard postgraduate and mature student spaces on campus.
  • Accessible and well-publicised financial guidance.
  • Support for the University and Colleges Union.

For all the details on my aims and what I plan to do, check out my full manifesto below!
