About me:

Hello there! My name is Edrion Ashirvadam, I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in cyber security.

I am running for this post because, as the current student representative of MSc. Cyber Security (2022-23) I believe I can convey the issues and concerns that my fellow students face, to the faculty. Being in the SSLC committee already gives me a boost to benefit students as it gets me involved in the student council and its operations.

My plans:

Become the student’s voice: It’s the duty of a rep. to first listen to it’s people’s voice and I am going to do exactly the same. Not only listen but ensure that they are been heard by the uni as well. I will support and help my fellow students in the best possible way.

Organise student council operations: Student council may be time-consuming and tedious. We spend too much time on the procedure and too little time debating and voting on your ideas. If you choose to support me, I'll prioritise crucial motions, conduct meetings effectively, make sure a variety of opinions are heard, and guarantee that they are concluded on time.

Strengthen support for international students: Being an international student myself, I understand the issues faced by students like me. Support in financial, mental and academic well-being is the top focus. Being away from home and yet at home is what I pledge to build by making the best use of my post, if I get elected.
