Live, Laugh, Lucas!

Hello, my name is Lucas and I am a third-year Geography student. I have moved all around the university, working in areas from the shop, to being club president. UEA has been my home for nearly 3 years now and during this time I have supported change and action in both clubs and societies. I would love to be able to do this for you full-time.

What will I do for you?

Supporting Communities

  • I will establish more regular meetings for society Presidents to create a supportive environment to share ideas
  • I want to give back the power to sport committees to make decisions on behalf of their club

Transparency

  • Open communication from uea(su), UEA sport, and committees about how membership income is spent and where funding comes from
  • Create a structure for effectively dealing with behaviour that goes against the code of conduct

Equal access to opportunities

  • Clubs and societies should be accessible to everyone who wants to participate!
  • Campaign for a society and sport hardship fund to support participation in activities for those who can’t usually afford it
  • Identify and advertise funding sources outside of the SU
  • Improve the website so events and activities ae easier to find so you can get involved, and information is given in a more accessible format
  • More inclusive and representative events. Removing strobe lights from the LCR and more!

Your SU, your way

  • Listening to you, providing the nights out (and days out) you’d like to see
  • Introduce an open door policy – I will always be available to talk to
  • Create space for anonymous ideas and complaints. Regardless of whether you’re comfortable speaking to the SU directly or not, your thoughts are valid.
