Doctor Who Marathon 2

*All welcome – no prior Doctor Who knowledge required* Join the Geek Society as we celebrate sixty years of the classic sci-fi TV series Doctor Who with some of the very best episodes from 1963 to 2023!

        That's the only sad thing. I want to know what happens next!

Doctor Who follows the adventures of a mysterious time-traveller called the Doctor as they travel the universe with their friends, having adventures and righting wrongs. The Doctor is able to change their appearance when mortally wounded, and they have been played by many different actors since the show began way back in 1963. The current incarnation of the Doctor is played by David Tennant, and he will be back on our screens in November, alongside Catherine Tate as his friend Donna Noble, for three special episodes.

To celebrate Doctor Who’s sixtieth anniversary, GeekSoc are hosting the ultimate marathon of the best episodes from across the show’s run. Our second day begins with a Doctor - but probably not the one you were expecting - in the minisode The Night of the Doctor, which serves as a prequel to the explosive fiftieth anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, which stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, and Sir John Hurt. After that, the planes have all stopped in The Magician's Apprentice / The Witch's Familiar and the Doctor reunites with the enigmatic River Song in The Husbands of River Song, before we journey to 1947 and witness the turmoil caused by the partition of India in Demons of the Punjab, and round the day off with the utterly bonkers episode which marked the centenery of the BBC, The Power of the Doctor. Stick around though, because we'll also watch the latest trailer for the sixteith anniversary specials, which see David Tennant and Catherine Tate return to the TARDIS, and we'll have the final vote for Ultimate Majestic Hair of the Universe!
