Thetford Forest walk
Saturday 11 March 2023, 10am - 4pm
Interested in exploring one of Norfolkâs greatest wildlife spots? On Saturday 11 March, CAWS is taking a trip to Thetford Forest!
We will be taking the train from Norwich Station (time to be decided nearer the time, but mid-morning-ish), and heading to Brandon. From there, it is a short walk til we’re in the forest, in the Santon Downham area along the Little River Ouse.
While nature offers no guarantees, this is one of the best places in Norfolk to see Otters and the rare Lesser Spotted Woodpecker: Goshawk and Woodlark are other really exciting species we have the potential to see, and the largest continuous stretch of forest in Norfolk is generally a great place for a walk!
We don’t need to limit numbers, but it is very helpful for the committee to know how many people we’re expecting, so please buy a ticket if you intend to join us. Packed lunch is recommended, but we can also stop off at one of the shops in Brandon just after we leave the station. Times for public transport will be announced closer to the time.
