Hello, I'm Sapphire and I'm a 1st year student studying Politics and IR. My time at UEA has been short, but I still feel I understand some of the issues students at UEA face.
Firstly, the LCR and SU Bar are great facilities to hang out in, yet through spending time in both I have noticed no system to queue for a pool table, out of date board games and LCR music that frankly isn't that good. These are things that I want to look at putting investment and new systems into. Allowing for a fairer and more enjoyable experience within the university and SU facilities.
Secondly, I would like to look at securing a bus route to local supermarkets. Something I've found is the walk to any supermarket near campus is horrible and too long, this is unsustainable and leads us to purchasing delivery which ends up as a lose lose situation due to the price. If we looked at establishing a bus route that passed by Aldi, Tescos or any other supermarket, this could elevate stress from students.
Finally, as someone who has always been active in politics, I understand the effect of local government on students. If elected, I want will establish links with the councillors that represent the university. This will allow us to have direct links and a way to talk policy with those who decide it.
