Your Voice, Your Concerns, Your Future
Hello Everyone!
I am excited to present my manifesto as a candidate for International Officer within the student body. As an international student and a person of colour, I am committed to making UEA a more inclusive and equitable institution for all:
1. Representation and Inclusion:
? Establish regular open forums where students from various backgrounds can
share their experiences and concerns. These forums will facilitate discussions on topics such as representation in the curriculum, ensuring all voices are heard.
? Advocate for the diverse needs and concerns of international students and students of colour at UEA.
2. Supporting Palestinian Demands:
? Promote awareness and understanding of Occupied Palestine on campus.
? End banking with Barclays
3. Cultural Exchange and Understanding:
? Create a "Cultural Café" event where students can sample international
cuisine, engage in discussions about different cultures, and share their traditions. This fosters cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.
4. Academic Support for International Students:
? Develop a mentorship program where current international students guide
newcomers.
5. Transparent Governance:
? Publish regular reports on student union activities, detailing decisions and
outcomes. Encourage open feedback from students through meetings and surveys to ensure their voices are integrated into decision-making processes.
I am dedicated to these objectives and to creating a supportive and inclusive academic environment at UEA. Your trust and support are crucial for this endeavor. Together, we can build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community for all UEA students.
