Creating a new society

If you have a new idea, passion or hobby that you think other students will love too, you can look to create your own Society. To do this you first need to find 20 other students who are interested, which you can do by proposing your new idea further down this page.

For more information on the next steps after this point, download our guidance document.

    Animation Society

Whilst there is an Art society, a dedicated society for the creation, sharing and enjoyment of (indie) animation is something that is missing. This society will be open to all people regardless of skill level (I am just a beginner myself), and for both 3D and 2D animation. (I have more experience in 3D, and so it might potentially lean towards 3D a bit more). Programs used could be things like Blender and Krita. People can meet up for various events such as creating short pieces in teams, sharing their work, and learning new skills and well as simply making friends and connections. It is a casual place for learning and enjoyment. Sessions will depend on the amount of people and the activities. I am aware that animation can take longer than a weekly output, especially if you are new, so there will be no pressure on output. Furthermore, there are many opportunities to cross over with other societies such as the Art Society, Anime, and more. I hope you consider this society! Thanks.
