Music Production Society.
Calling all artists, singer-songwriters, musicians and producers! Welcome to UEA's music production community!
Running for a few years now, Music production Society has been, and will continue to be the place for music lovers and makers to meet, collaborate and have fun. From violin playing to 808 kick laying, we welcome anyone who is interested in making music. The journey from idea, to demo, to final mix, to master and to release can be daunting; It is also one of the most rewarding and fun things you can do. Whether you want to release your debut solo album, or just want to spend a few hours making music and having fun to get away from life's stresses, we've got you.
We have two kinds of sessions at least once a week: Collaboration Sessions and Producer Sessions
Collaboration sessions are all about making music with other people, all your need to do is bring yourself if you're an artist, laptops (DAW) if you're a producer, and any instruments you wish, and we provide the rest. Come and find some people to collaborate and make friends with!
Producers sessions are designed to help to produce and make your own music. whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned professional, as long as you have the passion, there's something for you here. We also have an electric guitar and bass teacher on our committee if you would like do develop any of these skills!
Another huge aspect for us is finding plenty of performance opportunities to showcase your original stuff, from performing in The Hive, to event spaces in town such as Voodoo Daddies and the Waterfront, we always keep members in touch with possible local performance opportunities. There will be regular announcements made about any upcoming events.
Keep watching our Instagram for updates on how we will be getting you involved!
If you've bought a membership you will receive an email with the link to our WhatsApp community and our social media pages.
FAQs:
- What do I get with my membership? Attend the following for free!
- Studio collaboration sessions
- Producer sessions
- Special collaboration events with other societies and masterclasses for free
- Games socials and bar events
Important update! - If you were with us in previous years, you might know our members had free access to the Edit Suites and some equipment in the Music Building. Unfortunately, the rooms and equipment were not taken care of properly. This is no longer avaliable anymore as we cannot accomodate the numbers.
- Can I join as an artist/rapper? I don't know how to produce...
Absolutely! We need you! Even though it's called Music Production Society - it's really more like 'anyone who wants to make some bangin tunes'. No music production knowledge needed and that's the beauty of having collaboration sessions, to find a producer, it's a symbiotic relationship.
- I only play an instrument, can I still join?
Yes, instruments are always a unique and valuable asset to incorporate into any track, violins, trumpets, bass, kazoo, we love you all.
- Will you be able to give music production lessons?
We have a couple of producers on the committee who are happy to help with any questions and recommendations (just DM!), but we currenly are not doing regular classes due to limited avaliability and the varying levels between people.
