Young Liberals UEA
There has never been a better time to join the liberal fight. With our colossal contingent of seventy-two MPs (the largest third party in over a hundred years), the Lib Dems are championing causes like freedom of speech, dignity for marginalised groups, and a practical plan for the country. Young Liberals is the youth (under-thirty) and students’ organisation within the Lib Dems, and this society is the UEA branch of YL. No political experience whatsoever is required; in fact, this is a great way to get experience, and to build up a working relationship with the local Lib Dems!
If you are a believer in fundamental values such as liberty, equality, and community, then this society could be for you. Whether you’re looking to be politically involved or just want a good group to debate, play games and drink beer (or fizzy orange; pick your poison) with, there will be something here that you love.
We host events such as debate evenings, quizzes, and pub socials, as well as more politically focused ones like guest speakers, candidate Q & As and action days.
