UEA PrideSoc is a peer support group that aims to help LGBTQ+ students and allies find community, share knowledge, and enjoy their time at university. We strive to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where students can meet new people, share experiences and find a space to destress!
Our events include:- A weekly bar meet at Dorothy's (the gay bar on campus, upstairs in the SU) - dates and times for the 2026/27 academic year incoming! There's no pressure to drink here, just a weekly opportunity to chill out and chat with other queer students. - A weekly board game night. Dates, times and locations for the 2026/27 academic year to follow! Bring your favourite board games and hang out, make rivalries, etc. - A whole host of bar crawls, movie nights, pregaming meets, trips to pride events in the city, and collaborations with other societies. Watch this space!
UPCOMING:- Welcome Week Board Games. We'll be in Newsci from 16:00-21:00 on Thursday 17th September. Bring your favourite board games or just come along to chat! The goal is to provide a relaxed space to meet other LGBTQ+ students, get familiar with the committee and destress. You're welcome to come for the whole evening or stay for an hour!- Pride Picnic. We'll be by the lake from 11:00 till 4:00 on Saturday 26th September. If you're new to campus and worried about getting lost, we'll also be hanging around in the Street outside Ziggy's to walk you down! Bring your favourite allergen-safe snacks and a picnic blanket if you have one. Come make friends, chat about the first week of studies and (hopefully) enjoy the weather! We hope to have something for everyone, and we're always open to suggestions! We aim to keep events as accessible as possible - our society membership is completely free, and so are the vast majority of our events; we never want anyone to feel pressured to drink; and we are always trying to make our events as disability-friendly as possible. You're welcome to pop along to everything, or only come along for the occasional bar meet!
