Welcome to JSOC!

Whether you're passionate about Japan or simply looking to meet new people,
JSOC is the place for you.

We've been bringing together students from all over the world to celebrate
and explore Japanese culture for years.

Membership

For just £5, our membership gives you unlimited access to our regular movie/game nights and socials, alongside member exclusive discounts for our merchandise and Flagship Events, such as the JSOC BBQ!

All for less than the average pint in Norfolk!

Events

An event will be held every week, meaning there'll always be something for everyone.

Standard Events will be held three times a month, with a Flagship Event once a month.

Movie Monday
Kick back every Monday with a great movie pick, snacks and good company.
Socials
A wide range of socials - ranging form casual meetups to relax, chat and make new friends, to unforgettable outings to the LCR.
Game Night
Compete and collaborate in a selection of party, board and card games for all to enjoy.
JSOC BBQ
Our flagship summer cookout - food, music and games; the whole society together.
Spring Ball
Close out the year in style - dress in your best clothes and enjoy evening celebration full of great performances with prizes to be won.
Sports
Organised friendly matches and pick-up games - enjoy sports in a fun and non-competitive environment.

Kibimaru is our brand new JSOC mascot: embodying the fun, friendly and slightly silly spirit of Japan Society.

FAQ

Q1: What is a "Standard Event" and what is a "Flagship Event"?

A1: A "Standard Event" is a regularly occuring event that JSOC members have access to for free. These include our:
- Monday Night Movies 
- Game Nights 
- Socials
These events happen often, being in rotation every week.

A "Flagship Event" are unique major events that will only occur once during the year. These events are the one of the main reasons we host this society - making great memories with great people. Flagship events have tickets that must be purchased to attend, however JSOC members will recieve a exclusive discount which will reduce the price to essentially running costs. Some of the Flagship Events we have in mind for this year are:
- JSOC Baseball 
- The JSOC Eat and Greet 
- JSOC Karaoke Night
- ...And many more!
Flagship events will happen once a month, but since each event only happens once a year, we reccommend securing your ticket early to be sure not to miss out!
