As things start to wrap up on campus for another year, service times change to allow the SU's elves to take a well-earned rest.
You'll find all the festive opening hours below to better plan your winter break!


Students' Union Office

  • Monday 16th December - Friday 20th December = 9am-5pm
  • Monday 23rd December - Friday 3rd January = CLOSED
  • Monday 6th January = Back to normal service

Bar(SU)

  • Monday 16th December - Saturday 21st December = 4pm-midnight
  • Sunday 23rd December - Sunday 5th January = CLOSED
  • Monday 6th January - Saturday 11th January = 4pm-midnight
  • Sunday 12th January = CLOSED

Advice(SU)

The Advice service will be closed for the winter break from Wednesday 18th December 2024 to Monday 6th January 2025.

We will respond to any emails and queries received during that time when the team return to the office in January, prioritising time-sensitive or urgent correspondence. Please direct any queries or requests to advicecentre@uea.ac.uk

Please note that we will be running a limited service from Tuesday 7th January to Monday 13th January 2025 for team development and training.

If you are in need of crisis support whilst advice(SU) are closed, you will find some on campus alternatives below:

  • Crisis support (uea.ac.uk) - always contact emergency services by calling 999 if you have immediate concerns about your safety or someone else.
  • The UEA Residential Life team will be available across the Winter Break for students living on campus.

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) - Provides listening services, information and support for anyone who needs to talk, including a web chat. CALM's helpline and webchat are open from 5pm to midnight, every day of the year. Tel: 0800 58 58 58

LGBT Foundation - Advice, support and information for people identifying as LGBTQ+. The LGBT Foundation helpline is open on weekdays 9am to 9pm and weekends 10am to 5:30pm. Tel: 0345 3 30 30 30

National Domestic Abuse Helpline - Free 24-hour helpline for women who have experienced domestic abuse and violence, with all female advisors. Also offers a live chat and can help to find refuge accommodation. Run by the domestic violence charity Refuge. Tel: 0808 2000 247

NHS 111 - Non-emergency medical help and advice for people living in Wales. Select option 2 to access a 24/7 helpline offering urgent mental health support. Tel: 111
