Democracy

Understand how you can get involved in UEASU’s democratic processes and decision-making.

democracy at uea(su)

uea(su) is a democratic membership organisation. What this means is that our members direct what we do. We are run by students for students. To allow this to happen, we have various structures and meetings in place to enable our members; students, to direct us. The highest democratic decision-making body at uea(su) is the UEA50, made up of fifty randomly-selected students each term.

What would you like UEA staff to know about supporting LGBTQIA+ students? (Discussion)

    Current
This discussion would explore what students feel staff across UEA should understand or receive training on in relation to LGBTQIA+ students and their experiences. It would provide an opportunity to identify gaps in knowledge, confidence and awareness, and to hear directly from students about what would make interactions with staff feel more inclusive and supportive. The discussion could help inform the development of a consistent, university-wide LGBTQIA+ training session for staff, ensuring that any future training is shaped by the experiences and needs of UEA students.
