Hi and welcome to the Friendly Runner’s Club page! We’re a casual running group with a huge range of abilities, so regardless of whether you’re the new Mo Farah, or if the most running you’ve ever done is to catch a bus, if you’re wanting to have fun doing some exercise and meet new people in the process, then this is the society for you!

We have a Strava group (UEA Friendly Runners Club) which all members are able to join and encourange other runners on their progess. This can be done by downloading the Strava app and joining us in the clubs section - we come up as 'UEA Friendly Runners Club' and you'll see our logo! If you still can't find us, there is a link to the club strava below.

Any participation is welcomed so don't worry if you're feeling a bit sluggish or you can't run too far - we've had a pandemic - you've won by getting out of bed today, and you're lapping the people on the sofa.

Our Runs:

Members of our committee will be running at 3pm to complete a 5k every Wednesday, so join us if you can! We meet outside The Enterprise Centre (TEC) and run around many exciting and scenic parts of campus/Norwich. This is a briliant way to explore areas of Norwich you may not have seen before, get some fresh air, a break from studies, and meet new freinds.

We also take part in Parkruns. This is a free, weekly community event, where people run 5k around Eaton Park or Conley Lane. It is a positive and inclusive experience, with no time limit, and no one finishes last. This is a great experience to push for a 5k PB, or simply get get some exercise on a Saturday morning and a big breakfast afterwards! We also do Sunday long run for those who wan to run distances 10k and above.

>The BBC's couch to 5k (nine-week programme) is great for new runners or anyone wishing to get back into their fitness. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/get-inspired/43501261
