Academic Misconduct

Information about the University's Academic Misconduct process and what to expect if concerns are raised about your work

misconduct

Sometimes there may be concerns raised about your academic work through an Academic Integrity investigation. This is considered a suspected breach of academic misconduct.

It’s important to take this process seriously, as a breach of the Academic Integrity policy can sometimes have repercussions on your academic future.

It’s normal to feel stressed or worried if you are asked to attend a meeting - this page will explain what constitutes academic misconduct, what you should do if a concern is raised about your work, and how we can support you if you are asked to attend an investigation meeting.

You can find more information about what academic integrity means, as well as the University’s Academic Integrity Policy – on our Academic Integrity page.

The Student Guidance for Academic Integrity document (Appendix A) has more information about how students can interpret the University's policy. Staff guidance is also available (Appendix B).
