UEA Sustainability Week 2026 Returns Bigger, Bolder and Student-Centric

The UK’s first student-run Climate Week is back - and this year, it’s bigger and better than ever. Rebranded as UEA Sustainability Week 2026, the much-loved Climate Week at UEA has been officially reinstated as a collaboration between the University of East Anglia and the UEA Students’ Union, whilst at its core, remaining completely student-led. Running from the 22nd of April (Earth Day) to the 2nd of May 2026, the festival brings together students, staff, local organisations and global voices for an inspiring programme centred on community, collaboration and connection. Across eleven days, campus will become a sustainable action hub, featuring hands-on activities, educational talks, markets, workshops, and international speakers through an incredible mix of online and in-person events. pov: 2025 nostalgia...

Last year we featured on BBC Radio Norfolk and hosted over 40 external organisations, including government departments and councils such as CEFAS, Norwich City Council and Norfolk Climate Change Partnership, local businesses such as Lucy and Yak and New-U and charities such as Norfolk Wildlife Trust and Greenpeace.

There were: 30+ events, 40+ external organisations, 18 UEA Societies + Clubs, 14 UEA Departments, over 3,000 students directly engaged and over £1,000 raised- all in less than 10 weeks, by a team of 15 students.

2025 was a huge success, and since then we’ve learnt more about what our students, university and wider community need, we’ve refined our offering, and we’re ready to take the lead on sustainability and social impact in Norwich and beyond!

Collaboration at its heart- UEA Sustainability Week 2026 has been made possible thanks to significant financial and logistical support from the UEA Sustainability Team and UEA Events Team, alongside event partner Triple Bottom Line Accounting.
