WALKFit™ Silent Disco + Cromer Beach Trip

A seaside adventure with a fitness twist!

Fancy getting off campus, heading to the coast and trying something completely different?

Join us for a trip from UEA Campus to Cromer, a classic Victorian seaside town on the beautiful North Norfolk coast.

We'll travel by minibus from campus to Cromer, where you'll take part in a 45-minute WALKFit™ Silent Disco session, especially for UEA students.

After the session, you'll have 1 hour 30 minutes to explore Cromer, relax on the beach, wander around the town or, of course, grab an ice cream!

Transport to and from Cromer is included in your ticket.

What's WALKFit™ Silent Disco?

Never heard of it before? Don't worry!

You'll be given a wireless headset. Pop it on and you'll hear the music and your instructor, who will guide you through everything as you go.

WALKFit™ is suitable for all fitness levels. It's not a race, a run or a dance class, and there are no complicated routines to learn. The movements are simple, and if something doesn't suit you, you can simply keep walking.

Go at your own pace, enjoy the music and don't worry about getting everything “right”.

It's about getting outside, moving your body, having fun and enjoying a completely different kind of fitness experience.

What to wear:

Please come prepared for being outdoors and remember that Cromer can feel cooler and windier than Norwich, because it's on the coast.

Bring:

  • Comfortable footwear — you'll be walking and moving

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Extra layers for after the WALKFit session — you'll cool down quickly once you stop exercising

  • Water

Check the Cromer weather forecast before you leave and dress accordingly.

Before the activity starts, please tell the qualified instructors about any medical information they need to know so they can make sure they're prepared to support you appropriately during the session.

An email will be sent to participants approximately 24 hours before the event with the final departure information and any important updates.

This fantastic opportunity is brought to you by UEA Sport, see what else is on offer on our Active Campus programmes, and search on the ueasu.org website for more Adventure Afternoon opportunities!
