Located in Union House on campus, bar(su) features several distinct areas, including the Red Bar, Blue Bar, and the LGBTQ+ Bar. Each has its own atmosphere: from the chilled "pub vibes" in Red Bar, complete with pool tables and table tennis, to the more energetic Blue Bar, which hosts a variety of events, including club nights and live performances. The bars cater to diverse student communities and are a hub for socialising, with a wide array of events like karaoke and sports nights.
With a strong emphasis on inclusivity and community, bar(su) reflects the vibrant student life at UEA, offering everything from daytime hangouts to late-night club events.
We are a members and invited guests only bar. This means on the following can access the bar:
UEA students (PLUS 2 guests who must accompany you at point of service).
LCR gig ticket holders, or those visiting UEA Events, i.e., evening lectures.
UEA and Union staff, Contractors / Suppliers, guests of Broadview Lodge.
Alumni, NUA students, or anyone else who has a valid reason to be on campus.
A chilled out space, designed to recreate "pub vibes" - hang out, play pool and socialise. If you have your campus card with you, this is where you can get your table tennis equipment, too!
Opening Times:
A multi-purpose function area, great for hosting events - complete with DJ booth! Events hosted here include Spectrum, THE LGBTQ+ UEA club night, and Sports Night when it's not in the LCR.
our new bar opening upstairs, catering for the LGBTQ+ and diverse UEA community. bar(su) will have club nights on Wednesdays and Saturdays until late.
Please bear in mind that even when the bar is closed, alcohol not bought on the premeses cannot be consumed.
