WELCOME TO UEA YOGA CLUB!
Our club is aimed at all members of UEA, whether you have a long term passion or are trying it for the first time! Everyone is welcome to join us, no matter your ability level, age or gender, we cannot stress enough that yoga is for EVERYONE!!
We are planning to do so many fun things this year aside from the classes ran by our amazing teachers. Our socials will include a range of sober socials like brunches and bowling, and 'going out' socials such as pub crawls and themed sports nights. We are also planning some trips and retreats both locally and abroad, which will be the first time they have run since before covid, so we are all super excited to finally have these opportunities! And not forgetting the yoga workshops that proved very successful last year, such as a sound bath workshop, meditation and also bringing back some workshops from previous years such as arial yoga and acro yoga!
Being one of the largest clubs in terms of members you are bound to meet so many lovely people who share an enjoyment for the practice so come and join us!
TIMETABLE FOR 2023/24 TERM ONE
Class times and locations may vary during Welcome Week and taster sessions so please check the @ueayoga instagram or email the address below!
MONDAY - Blackdale 0.08
17:00-18:20- Dynamic Vinyasa yoga taught by Hollieann
18:30-20:00- Yin yoga with Hollieann
Dynamic Vinyasa links movement with breath in continuous sequences, moving through poses that create heat in the body and stillness in your mind.
Yin yoga is a slower yoga and involves more long-held and passive floor poses, focusing on certain parts of the body (e.g. hips). This is a slow and relaxing practise so please make sure to bring cosy and warm clothes (e.g. fluffy socks, jumpers eye pillows).
TUESDAY - KMS Room Sportspark
17:30-18:30- Vinyasa Flow with Eve
18:45-19:30- Nidra yoga with Eve
In Vinyasa classes, your breath is coordinated with your movements to flow from one pose to another seamlessly. These classes offer a variety of postures, and no two classes are alike.
Nidra yoga (also known as 'sleep yoga') doesn't involve any movement, but instead activates the brain in a dream like state which can be used to create intent and vision. Please wear extra cosy clothes and feel free to bring along a blanket or fluffy socks!

Additional Cost of Sport Ranges
The additional cost of sport project, which was created by the Students’ Union, alongside uea+sport, is designed to give prospective members information on the range of costs they may face in joining their chosen sport.
This range should be taken as guidance. For compulsory costs, this price includes uea+sport membership which is £55, and you only need to pay once to join all of our clubs.
When considering additional costs, some clubs may have none and others may have further costs. This is often dependent on the level of competitiveness for the sport you get involved in, and so recreational or socially playing may be cheaper. You may also have equipment which can be used between multiple sports, for example shoes or gum shields.
For any questions, please ask the sport club for specific further information, or union.opportunities@uea.ac.uk for further information on the project.
Many thanks,
Luke Johnson
