WELCOME TO UEA YOGA CLUB!

Our club is aimed at all members of UEA, whether you have a long term passion or are trying yoga for the first time! Everyone is welcome to join us, no matter your ability level, age or gender, we cannot stress enough that yoga is for EVERYONE and we have classes that will suit EVERYONE!!

We are planning to do so many fun things this year aside from the classes ran by our amazing teachers. Our socials will include a range of sober socials like brunches, jewellery making, pottery painting and potentially a Yoga Retreat! We also hope to host non sober socials such as pub crawls and themed sports nights. And not forgetting the yoga workshops that proved very successful last year, such as a sound bath workshop, meditation and also bringing back some workshops from previous years such as cat yoga!

Being one of the largest clubs in terms of members you are bound to meet so many lovely people who share an enjoyment for the practice so come and join us!

The Real Cost of Sport

The 'Real Cost of Sport' initiative, a project reviewed and rebranded by the Students' Union in partnership with uea+sport, aims to provide prospective members with a comprehensive overview of the potential costs of joining their chosen sports club. This year, I have worked closely with the clubs to ensure these tables are as accurate and up-to-date as possible.

This guide is intended to serve as a general reference. The compulsory cost includes the uea+sport membership fee of £60, which is a one-time payment that covers membership across all clubs.

When considering additional expenses, it is important to note that some clubs may not have any extra costs, while others might incur additional fees. These costs often depend on the level of competitiveness within the sport; recreational or social participation is generally less expensive. Additionally, some equipment, such as shoes or gum shields, may be used across multiple sports, potentially reducing overall expenses.

For any specific questions or further information about a particular club, please contact the club directly or contact us at union.opportunities@uea.ac.uk for more details about the project.

All the best,

Olivia Hunt
