In 2018, N D Stevenson asked the brave question: what if that He-Man spin-off from the 80s was about toxic lesbians? and this is the answer!
She-Ra follows Adora, a soldier belonging to the cleverly named Evil Horde, who stumbles across a mysterious sword in the woods that transforms her into She-Ra: slightly taller, slightly blonder, ambiguously magical, now with 100% more sharp weapons. With the help of her two best friends, Glimmer and Bow, and a team of other princesses with increasingly on-the-nose names, Adora is determined to save the planet of Etheria from the Horde. BUT! in doing so, she has to go up against her ex-best friend with absolutely zero homoerotic subtext, Catra. Surely nothing about this can go wrong :)
We'll be starting at 18:15 and the show will kick off at 18:45! For all of you who are returning from previous years, that's 15 minutes earlier!!!!! There will also be a themed quiz afterwards :) No knowledge required (in fact, lack of knowledge is preferred)
How to get here
You can find the New Science (NewSci) building at the bottom of Chancellor's Drive, just down from the Julian Study Centre. If you can't use the main steps to the doors, there is a ramp that heads further down the hill and then doubles back. Room 0.08 is through the main doors, then left through a set of double doors, then down the corridor a little way and through a door on the right. For the first few weeks, we'll try to bring along our GeekSoc roller banner, so it should be easy to spot us!
