Boldly going where no-one has gone before! (Lecture Theatre 2)
All welcome - no prior Star Trek knowledge required
It's been sixty years since Captain Kirk and the intrepid crew of the USS Enterprise set out to "boldly go where no man has gone before". Since then, the Star Trek franchise really has boldly gone, spinning off into countless TV programmes and films, featuring such memorable characters as tea-obsessed English Frenchman Jean-Luc Picard, baseball dad and part-time religious figure Benjamin Sisko, coffee addict Kathryn Janeway, technically-a-war-criminal Michael Burnahm, multiple different Spocks, and an entire cast of angsty teenagers!
To celebrate this impressive milestone, we're running our very own Star Trek marathon, showing some of the best episodes and films from 1966's original series all the way through to Starfleet Academy from 2026. Join us in Lecture Theatre 2 on the 3rd and 4th of October for two days of wonderfully optimistic science fiction, interspersed with the traditional GeekSoc marathon activity of voting for the character who has the best hair!
Everyone’s welcome to come along, and we’ve made sure to pick stories that don’t require any prior knowledge to enjoy. Join us for the whole marathon, or just drop in for your favourites!
Sunday 4th October
