Throughout Women’s History Month, the Sportspark Functional Studio will be operating with 'Women's Only' hours on certain days/times.
In 2015, research by Sport England suggested that a large number of women avoided taking part in sport because of a fear of how others would judge them for it - whether by how they looked, their ability or whether they might be expected to prioritise their time elsewhere.
This Girl Can challenges this by encouraging all women across the UK to get active in any sport - and to feel utterly glorious while they do it, regardless of their skill!
In order to create a welcoming and non-judgemental atmosphere, we will be opening the Sportspark Functional Studio to women-only during certain days and times of Women's History Month to allow women to workout without the usual pressures of a gym environment. During these hours, access is free and no memberships are required.
- Monday 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th March 10:00 – 12:00
- Friday 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st March 14:00 – 16:00
- Wednesday 15th and 29th March 18:30 – 20:30
We're committed to making sure all uea+sport events are as accessible as possible for all students.
