Alice Goldsney

Relentlessly Supportive of Women+

Hi, I'm Alice!

In this role I am enthusiastic to further understand the progress and changes that the UEA women+ community want to see. I hope to be an approachable advocate for those who feel their voice is not being sufficiently heard throughout the university, finding effective and sustainable ways to implement change.

If elected I will seek to:

  • Work with non-binary people, who identify with any aspects of femininity, to understand the nuanced challenges faced by the entire womens+ community here at UEA, and how I can be the best representative for all of us.
  • Expand and support the work of Bloody Good Period.
  • Organise sexual health and period education for women+ in an open and discussive matter for those who feel they need it.
  • Support women’s clubs and societies development and opportunities.
  • CREATING SAFE SPACES:
    • on nights out by cooperating with Girls Night Society I hope to organise a space within the LCR where women+ can go if they feel unsafe and anxious,
    • I will ask LCR staff to incorporate the ‘Ask for Angela’ campaign,
    • ensuring all women+ are aware of, and have access to, mental health helplines.
  • Finally, I believe an important aspect of university life is to feel a part of the community. I want to offer regular womens+ coffee mornings and evening socials. I hope that this will offer an environment in which women+ can make connections, seek advice and feel safe, valued and heard.

Hope to see you all soon!
