Volunteer Training
Volunteering with buddy(su) can be one of the most rewarding opportunities on campus. We all remember our first day arriving to UEA - the joy, excitement, nerves and trepidations. For those who will just be arriving to UEA, those nerves and trepidations are all too real. Our student handbook will help you as a volunteer to help your buddy make the most of their time at UEA.
Training is compulsory for all students wanting to volunteer as a buddy. Please view and note the training video below and read the student handbook. You will then need to complete the below quiz to show understanding of the role and training. We also have a range of additional resources to support you in your role.

Being a buddy(su) volunteer, you may get asked questions you don’t know the answer to or feel uncomfortable to answer. If this is the case, please get in touch with the team and we will offer guidance on how best to proceed.
If you are experiencing an issue that is affecting your ability to live well or study well, you can seek support from advice(su), an impartial team of trained and experienced advisors. The team provide free and confidential advice and representation on a range of issues relating to student life. This includes; university procedures, complaints, housing, and welfare issues. advice(su) are completely independent of the University and can represent you without conflict of interest.
