Student officers are democratically elected by UEA Students to represent them to the University and the wider world, to lobby for their interests and make University life the best it can be. Elections start 2nd February!
Elections are held every year for all student officer positions, usually between January and March. Any student can run! As a democratic organisation representing the student body at UEA, uea(su) run elections each academic year to make sure that you have a say on who represents you and to make sure that, once elected, your representatives are held accountable. What Your Officers Have Done For You!
Too many to count! Here are some highlights:
Night Bus
Starting the Night Bus scheme in collaboration with First Bus which provides students public transport after a night out. (FTO: 2024-onwards)
Brought back the Education Society (EDU Convenor: 2025)
Community-building event - Craft and Munch
First community-building event of the year, welcoming new members into the non-visible disabilities community and encouraging inclusion. (PTO: 2025)
Co-launched a disability awareness initiative, representing different visible and non-visible disabilities each week on social media. (PTO: 2025)

Your student officers make a commitment to the student body in their manifestos, which they follow up on once elected. Alongside their busy meeting schedules and bustling social media presence, they also respond to key national and global issues and keep you up to date with all the SU is doing.
