Meet your Student Officers

Your student officers represent you! You can contact them about academic issues, clubs and societies, campaigns and more. Student officers are democratically elected by UEA Students to represent them to the University and the wider world, to lobby for their interests and make University life the best it can be. Your student officers represent you! You can contact them about academic issues, clubs and societies, campaigns and more. 

 

 

Elections start 2nd February! 

Elections are held every year for all student officer positions, usually between January and March. Any student can run! As a democratic organisation representing the student body at UEA, uea(su) run elections each academic year to make sure that you have a say on who represents you and to make sure that, once elected, your representatives are held accountable. What Your Officers Have Done For You! 

Too many to count! Here are some highlights:

Night Bus

Starting the Night Bus scheme in collaboration with First Bus which provides students public transport after a night out. (FTO: 2024-onwards)

Education Society

Brought back the Education Society (EDU Convenor: 2025)

Community-building event - Craft and Munch

First community-building event of the year, welcoming new members into the non-visible disabilities community and encouraging inclusion. (PTO: 2025)

Disability awareness initiative

Co-launched a disability awareness initiative, representing different visible and non-visible disabilities each week on social media. (PTO: 2025)

Winter Markets and Craft Fairs

Organised the Winter Market in December 2025 and a crafts fair in January 2026. (FTOs: 2025-2026)

Fighting for UEA students in parliament

Fought for UEA students in parliament and worked with our MP Clive Lewis to help students (FTO: 2024-onwards)

On Campus Pharmacy

Saved the pharmacy on campus from being removed as it changed hands from Boots (FTO: 2023-2025)

Big Free Concert

Hosted a free concert in The Square on campus to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of UEA (FTO: 2024)

Black History Month Cultural Showcase at the Waterfront

Organised and hosted a Black History Month Cultural Showcase at the Waterfront. (FTO: 2025)

Postgraduate Coffee Nook and Breakfast Club

Hosted weekly free breakfast open for all postgraduate students, and launched a free hot drinks service within the postgraduates kitchen in Union House. (FTOs: 2024-2025)

Your student officers make a commitment to the student body in their manifestos, which they follow up on once elected. Alongside their busy meeting schedules and bustling social media presence, they also respond to key national and global issues and keep you up to date with all the SU is doing.
