Meet the people elected to stand up for your interests, represent you across academic meetings in the SU and the University, and lead change in your education.
Convenors
Convenors lead change across your School and Faculty, representing you at the highest level in academic meetings. You can meet them at Students Experience Partnership (SEP meetings) to promote your views and ideas, and make sure that all students are getting the best from their education. They also sit on Education Committee and Union Council.
School Convenors
School Convenors are responsible for representing the students within their specific school (both undergraduates and postgraduates). They attend Student Experience Panels (SEPs), where they discuss students’ concerns and ideas to improve their school experience, and ensure that solutions are found and that the feedback loop is closed. Additionally, they have a role in Union Council meetings, where they can bring forward school-specific issues to a broader university forum, in addition to brining in and voting for motions and other decisions.
Faculty Convenors
Faculty Convenors represent students at the faculty level. They are responsible for raising concerns that affect students across multiple schools within a faculty. Faculty Convenors ensure that students' voices are heard in both SEPs and Faculty Learning, Teaching, and Quality Committees (FLTQCs). Postgraduate Faculty Convenors focus specifically on postgraduate student concerns across the faculty. Their role is to ensure that the unique needs of postgraduate students are addressed, both at the faculty level and through Student Union channels.
