Moving from a small town in India to Norwich, UK has been one of the most transformative chapters of my life. Growing up, my world was close-knit, familiar, and full of people who shaped my identity with their warmth and support. Leaving that behind to pursue my goals abroad felt both exciting and intimidating. When I first arrived in Norwich, everything felt different — the weather, the culture, the silence, even the way people interacted. I missed the noise, colours, and comfort of home, but this distance taught me resilience. Slowly, Norwich started welcoming me in its own gentle way: through friendly classmates, supportive teachers, peaceful streets, and opportunities that pushed me to grow. I learned to cook for myself, manage responsibilities, navigate challenges, and build new connections from scratch. Each step taught me independence and helped me realise how strong I could be when I trusted myself. Over time, this new city began to feel familiar, turning my fear into confidence and my loneliness into community. Today, I carry both worlds within me — the simplicity and warmth of my Indian hometown, and the growth and possibilities of Norwich. This journey has shown me that “home” is not just where you start; it is every place that helps you become a better version of yourself.
