The MHFA course is a way to practise the skills needed to notice when someone is struggling with their mental health, to gain the confidence to start a conversation with them and to know how to signpost them to the right support.

THIS IS A TWO DAY COURSE - 29th & 30th November (Saturday & Sunday)

We are pleased to announce that Headucate UEA will be offering a subsidised 2-day Mental Health First Aid training course with the help of Headucate UK to 8 members! This is an accrediated course that last for 3 years, and is a great qualification to add to your CV.

1 in 4 people experience a mental health related issue every year. This training is super important in ensuring people are equipped to help out where they can.

This course usually costs around £330 but you will only have to pay £50! This is possible with the help of Headucate UK and Headucate UEA subsidising most of the costs.

This will also be alongside members of Headucate UCL and Headucate Birmingham!

Skills you can from the course:

Ability to recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health
Ability to provide them with first-level support and early intervention
Confidence to encourage a person to identify and access supports
Able to have conversations with better mental health literacy around language and stigma
Practise active listening and empathy
Practise self-care

Training details:

Dates: 29th & 30th November (Saturday & Sunday)
Time: 9am-5pm (with breaks)
Location: Online (the link will be emailed to you before your training)

Delivered by a qualified mental health first aid trainer
Cost: subsidised from £330 to only £50!

Learning takes place through a mix of instructor led training, individual reflections, and group discussions.
