Join us on 12th November 2025 at 5pm in-person at Elizabeth Fry 01.08 for an inspiring talk with Professor Amanda Howe OBE — GP, global leader, and past President of both the World Organization of Family Doctors and the Royal College of GPs.

With over 40 years in primary care, Professor Howe will share insights on leadership, professionalism, and the future of general practice 💬💙

Professor Amanda Howe was a GP for 40 years in the U.K., and also had an academic career which included being the Foundation Professor of Primary Care at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, and the second Course Director for the UEA MBBS. She held a number of senior leadership roles, including being President of the World Organization of Family Doctors from 2016-2018, and President of the Royal College of GPs from 2019-2021. Apart from championing general practice, medical education reform , and professionalism as a core attribute of good doctors,  she has particular clinical and research interests in quality of care, the effective use of education as an intervention to improve care, mental health problems, and patient and public empowerment in health care settings.   She was awarded Queen’s Honours as Officer of the British Empire in January 2016 for services to primary care.
