Join us for the first of many Card Game events Games Society will be running this year! On Wednesday the 19th we will be drafting the Magic: The Gathering set Duskmourn: House of Horror, a scary plane where a haunted house has swallwed the world and the survivors of this post-apocalypse move between rooms of terror and fright while the minions of the demon Valgavoth who lives at the heart of the house hunt them down and scare the living daylights out of them!

If you're unfamiliar with the format of Draft it essentially involves building a 40 card deck one card at a time using packs of 15 cards passed around the table. Basic lands will be provided so only 20-28 cards are likely to be played from those drafted - building a draft deck takes a bit of skill! We put out a poll earlier this academic year to ask members on our discord server what set they'd like to see drafted this year and the prevailing set was Duskmourn! There's been some small delay (organising other parts of the society has taken some time) but we are so happy to finally bring this to you! We hope, if this event goes well, to make draft a more regular occurance perhaps even a regular event. Duskmourn has some specific mechanics it brought with it, primarily the enchantment subtype - Rooms, and the Manifest Dread keyword.
