Derby Day 2026 – UEA vs Essex 🏆🔥

The 24th edition of the long-running rivalry between UEA Sport and the Essex Blades. On Wednesday 22 April, this year's varsity is shaping up to be a very close one - with over 40 UEA teams facing off to bring home the glory for the 12th consecutive win!

2 universities.
30+ fixtures.
1 campus.
And a whole lot of UEA pride.

Wear your colours. Bring your mates. Make some noise. Let’s make it a Derby Day to remember!

Event Locations

Fixtures will take place across several hubs on campus:

Sports Arena – Basketball, Volleyball, Netball, Dance and Cheerleading
Sports Centre – Archery, Badminton, Table Tennis, Dodgeball, Judo, Futsal and Squash
Outdoor Pitches & Courts – Football, Rugby, Hockey, Lacrosse, Cricket, Baseball, Tennis and American Football
Square 3 – Pole Fitness and Pool
Additional events will take place off campus at UEA Sportspark (Athletics & Swimming) and Lexden Wood Golf Club (Golf).

Event Times

Facilities open: From 08:30
First fixtures: From 09:00
Final fixtures finish: Around 20:00
Medal presentations: Held throughout the day on Square 3.
