Disability Week Talk - Representation in visual media: can we get it right?

This event aims to include those interested in visual media - either working in the industry or as consumers - in various debates about how disabilities are represented on screen. I will show clips from TV shows and series, and engage the audience in debate on whether the representation is accurate, impactful, and acceptable. “I have worked as a tutor for creative industries for over 5 years, and have discussed many topics on representation of marginalised groups through deliveries of PPD lessons. I am currently studying a BA, but have many years' experience working in events and media, where accessibility and representation have been at the heart of what I've worked on.”
