Hosted by Dr Mark Curtis - This talk draws on Mark’s lived experience as an academic with a disability. Dr Mark Curtis is Theme Lead for medical ethics at the Norwich Medical School. A philosopher by training, Mark has taught applied ethics and the philosophy of science and medicine at UEA and at other institutions. As well as teaching on the Norwich MBBS at all levels, Mark leads a postgraduate module on research ethics and governance. His research reflects his concentration on medical ethics, the wider philosophy of medicine and on the neuroscience of mental health and human decision-making. He is equalities officer for the UEA branch of the University and College Union (UCU). Mark entered academia in his fifth decade after being diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis.
