Why do we listen to music? Why do we go to gigs? Because it’s an escape from our problems? To enhance and magnify our emotions? For togetherness? Well, I challenge you to see the face of someone in the audience at Lottery Winners show not totally beaming. This is exactly why they’re quickly becoming one of the UK biggest and best live bands.

You only have to attend one gig, or even read any review, to know this band are different. Their music is important and meaningful and their live shows are unique and enlightening. Mix the charisma of front man Thom Rylance, witty as he is electric, with the cool, sultry bass of Katie Lloyd, the pounding powerhouse of Joe Singleton on drums and Rob Lally’s slinkymelodies and you have something unmissable. Unignorable.

Their 2020 independent self titled debut album reached an impressive #23 in the UK Official charts. Soon after, 2021 gave us the sophomore album ‘Something to Leave the House For’, that conquered and reached even dizzier chart heights, finishing #11 in the Official UK charts, and number #2 in the UK Official Independent Charts.

The band’s third studio album, Anxiety Replacement Therapy (A.R.T), is set to be released late in April. Already previously producing a wealth of star spangled collaborations of industry greats such as Nickleback, Frank Turner, Sleeper and KT Tunstall, the Lottery Winners’ third album is setting the bar even higher, with the likes of Shaun Ryder, Boy George and once again Frank Turner gracing the record.

Social media numbers can prove an unrivalled loyal fan base, with Spotify numbers soaring to 250k monthly listeners, and 75k followers across all social media. Some of these numbers can be attributed to the bands momentous hard work during lockdown, where dedicating their new found free time at home saw them going viral on TikTok, not once but twice, releasing a charity single ‘Love Will Keep us Together’ for Manchester’s mental health charity Beelieve and creating their own weekly online Facebook live streamed TV show, LWTV Live, which consisted of star guests such as Rick Astley, Andy Burnham, Julie Hesmondhalgh and Jamie Cullum. The shows success eventually escalated to being a full TV show aired and broadcasted by Sky.

Their efforts not going unnoticed soon saw radio love for the band pouring in. The band has received airtime from Radio 1 (Big Weekend), Radio 2, Radio 6, Radio X, Virgin Radio, BBC Manchester and Lancashire, and also regular A List play listing on XS Manchester.

Last year the band played a whirlwind amount of 120 live shows, including the Manchester Arena with Rick Astley, and other colossal supports such as Paul Weller, Richard Ashcroft, Shed Seven, the Reytons and an American tour with KT Tunstall and European tour with Will and the People. The summer saw the band grace main stage and impressive slots at the biggest festivals such as Tramlines, Kendal Calling and Boardmasters to vast amounts of audiences.

2023 is set to be a mammoth year for the 4 piece band hailing from Leigh, Lancashire. Their unrivalled and astoundingly energetic live shows have already secured the band a plethora of main stage slots at the biggest festivals, two massive headline tours, support tours with the mighty Frank Turner and Kaiser Chiefs, as well as taking them even further afield, returning to the USA and Europe to various festivals and shows, after firmly and impressively making their mark in both territories last year.

This band are destined for greatness. Ask anybody who’s ever experienced them.
