Finding your Thread - a creative project with Norfolk Museums Service

Tuesday 01 November 2022, 10am - 2pm

Meet outside Congregation Hall

This is a 2 part DSD event!

Tuesday 1st November 10-2 AND on campus date TBC.

You are invited to take part in a very special creative opportunity! This is a partnership project between UEA, Christina at Brailsford Learning and the Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse (Norfolk Museums Service).

On Tuesday 1st November, a minibus will take you from UEA to Gressenhall (about 30 minutes away). There we will work with artist and museum professional Rachel Duffield to explore the work of two women who have used creative expression to communicate their emotions and feelings. Rachel will help us learn more about the work, and support us to create our own personal 'artistic journals', based around expressive practices and taking inspiration from what we have seen. There will be options to work together and/or individually.

All parts of the project are free, but you will need to bring a lunch with you to Gressenhall.

We will meet outside of Congregation Hall on the 1st Nov.

Then we will meet again on campus and will work with Rachel and Christina to create our own creative responses to what we saw and learnt at Gressenhall. The pieces of art we create will be displayed in the SIZ and then of course you are able to take them home. This event is aimed at opening up conversations about mental health and wellbeing.
