Educate

What are we doing?

This year, we are producing a series of videos and shorts in which we explore different people's perspectives on disability and how best to navigate potentially awkward situations. You may have seen these posted on our social media channels throughout the month, but if you haven't? Don't worry!

We have them all here for you to watch.

Interviews

Holly and Georgia

We have interviewed your disability officers, Holly and Georgia, asking what Disability History Month means to them, how you can get involved and so much more!

Elise and Serene

Your postgraduate and campaigns officers, Elise and Serene, talk about how you can get involved with Disability History Month and their advice to students that are living with disability.

How can you be an 'amazing ally'?

  • A - Awareness: You can help this DHM by spreading awareness on social media to keep others informed using #DisabilityALLY #Diversability
  • L - Learn: You can educate yourself on what ableism is and how to detect it
  • L - Lookout: Consider accessibility in your environment, and prioritise inclusion in ways that you can
  • Y - Year Round: Do your best to support the disabled community all the time not solely during DHM

Don't be that person

In this series of shorts, we highlight some real lived situations with Holly and how you can avoid "being that person" whilst being an ally.

DISCLAIMER: Nobody was hurt in the making of these videos!
