Candidate for the position of ENG School Convenor

Ana Mckenna-Ochoa

The role of convenor provides the opportunity to impact the innovations within the School of Engineering, ensuring the most accurate representation of students’ voices across all cohorts within the School, allowing the School to understand and provide the most appropriate response for all students.

Within the role, I aim to work closely with academic representatives across all stages to support and understand the impacts on learning environments. I also strive to create an environment for Academic reps within the School and for all engineering students to be informed of outcomes from Engineering SSLCs.

My experience as an academic course rep for Engineering for the previous two years has given me the skills and understanding of what is needed from the convenor role, allowing relations across my cohort, other student representatives and staff within the department.

I believe the convenor role contributes significantly to the learning environment and has proven especially valuable in the past, and I hope to make a significant impact within the role.
