Norwich Debating Union

The Norwich Debating Union exists to foster debate on campus, and to improve debating and public speaking skills! We'd love to see you at one of our sessions in the future!

Every Monday, in EH 1.25, starting at 6:00pm.

Every Thursday, in EH 1.25, starting at 6:00pm.

We also hold regular public debates, socials, and additional debating sessions.

Why join the Norwich Union?

At the NDU, we are proud to offer biweekly debates and a variety of other events. Our regular sessions focus on improving your ability to form and communicate arguments.

We participate in competitive debating in the UK and Europe in the British Parliamentary format — sending teams to competitions on the weekends! We have also sent teams to the European University Debating Champioships in 2024 and 2025. We plan to host our own competitions each term — having successfully convened Norwich Online 2025 in June. These competitions are a fantastic opportunity to test your debating skills, meet people from other universities, and take part in exciting and engaging debates!

We hold regular socials, including film nights and quiz nights! We'd love to see you at one of our events in the future!
