UEA Assassins Society
If you want to kill your friends for fame and fortune, then the Assassins society is for you! We run weekly minigame sessions on Tuesday, along with online socials and occasional collaboration with other societies. In addition, we are running week-long campus games where the aim is to hunt down other members of the society and "eliminate" them. We’re a relaxed and welcoming group to all play styles and abilities.
Weapons
We typically run with around Nerf guns. You don’t have to bring your own, we have an extensive arsenal belonging to the society, and we loan out blasters and darts for free during both the minigames and long games. You can also bring along modded nerf blasters but these must be “okayed” by the committee on a case-by-case basis, feel free to ask questions about any weapons you want to run over on our discord.
Games
We typically run Minigames on a Tuesday, with game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Imposters and blindfold games. The aim being to shoot as many of your friends as possible! It gives you a great chance to meet lots of people from a variety of courses.
We run a variety of game types at different events. Our week-long games take place across the whole of campus, where players can take down opponents in between lectures. Game modes include the likes of the classic Team Deathmatch, the momentum-based Warlords (your victims join your team on the following day), the inevitable Zombie Apocalypse, and the nail-biting Guild game. In these games, you can typically expect to join back in on the next day if you die, and you can identify the other players by looking for a green or yellow armband on their arm. In some games, rather than a team of players to take on, you'll be given a single target to hunt them down. But watch out - another player will be hunting you too!
Social Events
Although we have not taken part in any external events for a while due to the aftereffects of Covid, we hope to be able to take part in Assassin’s Varsity (an Assassins based competition with other assassin societies across the UK) this spring and 28 Darts Later (A large scale Humans vs Zombies event) this summer as well as any other matches with other assassin societies we arrange as the year goes on, so stay tuned to see what exciting plan we have in regards to that.
We also run online socials especially during the holidays so we can keep socialising even when we’re all away! Our biggest games tend to be running a variety of Jackbox minigames like Talk Talk & Quiplash, however we can also run games such as Gartic phone and Cards Against Humanity at these occasions.
