Welcome to UEA’s West Indies Society! 🌴
We are here to unite, embrace and represent students of Caribbean heritage. Everyone is welcome, it doesn’t matter if you are of Caribbean Heritage or not! This is a Society that brings West Indians and our friends together to celebrate culture and heritage as well as to educate others all while enjoying a welcoming and fun environment.
Our Goals!
Celebrate West Indies culture: Highlight West Indies music, food, art, festivals, and traditions.
Educate and share: Provide learning opportunities about West Indies history, culture, and current issues for all members.
Inclusive community-building: Bring together West Indians and non West Indians who value the culture, fostering friendship and understanding.
Youth and member empowerment: Support personal growth, leadership, and cultural pride.
Promote cultural appreciation: Encourage respectful engagement with West Indies culture and broaden awareness in the wider community
