The Postgraduate Committee, which is elected by the Assembly at the start of the academic year, is made up of six elected postgraduate representatives and four of the full-time elected officers, as well as a part-time officer chosen by the Student Officer Committee. The Committee take part in decisions on allocating the SU's PG budget, organising events and campaigns, and use of the Graduate Centre. They also sit on the student union's Union Council, allowing them to change SU decisions at the highest levels.
Who attends Postgraduate Committee?
There will be six elected Student representatives from various schools and faculties. Two of these positions are reserved for PGR students to ensure well rounded representation across the committee. Four of the elected Full-Time Officers are also in attendance as well as a Part-Time Officer elected by the Student Officer Committee.
What happens at Postgraduate Committee?
The Committee take part in decisions on allocating the Postgraduate SU budget, organising events and campaigns, and use of the Graduate Centre. They ensure our Postgraduate Students feel safe, welcome and included within the UEA and SU community.
The Committee discuss and vote on PG matters as well as plan and organise Student lead PG events. These can be funded by the PG Committee and may be in collaboration with other organisations such as UEA+Sport.

Postgraduate Committee Fund
The Postgraduate Committee fund will be discussed with all attendees at the first meeting, along with terms and eligibility in applying for the fund. Applications should be sent to the Voice and Representation Team via su.voice@uea.ac.uk prior to meetings and all present members will be responsible in voting of all funding requests. Funding decisions at a Committee meeting shall be reached by a simple majority of those present and voting. Quorum for a Committee meeting shall be one-half (50%) plus one of Committee members - the chair shall be exempt from voting unless it is a tie breaking vote.
